Happy New Year!
I am a very curious person who questions everything and comes up with peculiar insights. I am aware that today marks the beginning of a new year. But what if we looked at this day as just a regular day?
When I was growing up, I remember how we would gather the night before New Year's to welcome the new year. I recall the traditions: the grapes, the champagne, the countdown, and all the hugs and kisses that came with it. I must confess, this is not something I thoroughly enjoyed, and I still don’t. I just feel it puts a lot of pressure on us—pressure to set goals, to accomplish things, and to make those extremely long resolutions we write for the new year.
To me, that feels overwhelming. I want to see each day as the beginning of something new, not just the start of the year. I want to treat every day as an opportunity for new possibilities and welcome them as I discover what they bring. The more I think about it, the more I feel this way: we can carry with us, throughout the year, this sense of hope, creation, discovery, and awe for each new day.
Imagine waking up every day with the same curiosity as a child who welcomes the day with wonder. Children are, after all, our best teachers. Just observe how a child wakes up—with beautiful innocence and excitement—ready to embrace the new day, creating and discovering what it brings.
So, this is an invitation: to carry with you throughout the year this sense of gratitude, hope, creation, discovery, and awe. Let’s welcome each day with curiosity and love, open to discovering the beautiful gifts it brings us.❤️
