Do you recall the feeling of joy in your life? Do you know the definition of joy? You probably remember that I love looking up words in the dictionary. When I looked up the word joy, as a noun, it means "a feeling of great pleasure and happiness."
Let’s explore times when we’ve felt joy in our lives. We’ve likely felt joy while experiencing moments like watching a sunset, listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean, or sipping coffee while gazing at a sunrise. Can you recall that feeling?
We can also feel joy through our relationships and interactions with others. Joy arises during loving conversations with our children, friends, or family. It can also come from accomplishing something we’ve worked hard to achieve.
Have you ever heard someone say they’re crying tears of joy? Yes, it’s possible! These tears often come from experiencing profound happiness.
Now, I’d like you to consider that it’s also possible to experience joy through the relationship we cultivate with ourselves. You might wonder: how is that possible? From my own experience, I’ve found that sitting in stillness with myself brings the most profound feelings of joy. In this stillness, I connect with myself and gain a deeper understanding of who I am. You may find it hard to believe, but this practice brings me a deep sense of joy.
I also believe we cannot offer others what we don’t first give to ourselves. Would you consider this? I wish I could share the joyful feeling I experience in stillness, but it’s a journey each of us must take on our own. By sitting in stillness, you not only come to know and understand yourself, but you also discover the peace and love within. It’s in this space that you’ll find the deepest joy.
So, here’s my invitation: take the time to sit in stillness and get to know your beautiful self. The joy you’ll experience is unique and deeply personal.
I wish you the best and hope you experience profound joy.
Namaste.❤️
